A. Expressing Apology
Expressing apology merupakan ungkapan untuk meminta maaf atas kesalahan yang dibuat kepada seseorang.
Contoh:

• I do apologize for … (saya sangat meminta maaf atas …)
• I must apologize for … (saya harus meminta maaf atas …)
• I apologize for … (saya akan meminta maaf …)
• I’d like to apologize for … (saya sangat mohon maaf atas …)
• I am so sorry for … (saya sangat mohon maaf atas …) 
• I shouldn’t have … (saya seharusnya tidak …)
• I’m very sorry for that. (Saya sangat mohon maaf atas hal itu)
• I apologize if I … (Saya meminta maaf apabila/jika saya …) 

Berikut ungkapan yang biasa digunakan untuk meminta maaf dalam situasi formal.

• Sorry. (Maaf)
• I’m so/very/terribly sory. (Saya sangat minta maaf) 
• Every so sorry. (Sangat menyesal)
• How stupid/careless/thoughtless of me. (Betapa bodoh/tidak hati-hati/tak berpikirnya saya!)

2. Expressing Wishes 

• Good luck! (Semoga berhasil)
• I wish you luck. (Saya harap kamu berhasil) 
• Best of luck! (Semoga berhasil) 
• Good fortune be with you. (Semoga keberuntungan berpihak padamu)
• I hope that you always OK (Saya harap kamu selalu baik)
• I hope you have a pleasent journey. (Saya harap kamu memiliki perjalanan yang menyenangkan) 
• I hope you have a good trip. (Saya harap kamu memiliki perjalanan yang menyenangkan) 
• I hope you happy today. (Saya harap kamu bahagia hari ini) 

Contoh Soal:

Hanna: Hi Dian, you look so sad.
Dian: My sister got an accident yesterday and she is hospitalized.
